Depuis les années 1960 mais surtout 1980, les bords de Seine du XIIIe arrondissement ont connu de profonds changements. La BNF, la Cité de la Mode et du Design, la passerelle Simone de Beauvoir ont insufflé une vie nouvelle à ce territoire de bord de Seine marqué par son passé portuaire et industriel. Nous reviendrons sur l’aménagement progressif des quais qui ont contribué à faire de la Seine un nouveau lieu d’agrément tout en conservant une dimension commerciale et industrielle indispensable au fonctionnement de la cité.
